Small Town.jpg

ISOA Banner  The above scene it all too common on main street in rural America. Buildings which once housed thriving small businesses are now abandoned to the ravages of time.  I wonder what it would take to re-purpose these sites to bring them back into use. It takes a creative person to figure that out but it is being done in some small towns…

2016-03-01_07-41-32.pngThis will be my first post in the category In Search of/The Bright Side. There is so much negativity around that bright side thinking seems to be a lost art in today’s world. It seems that everyone’s glass is half empty now. We need to do whatever is necessary to bring back the idea of positive thinking. A good start is to embrace Positive Thinking.

Positive Thinking has a power all it own but it must be fed a constant diet  of encouragement to keep it alive.  There must be hope and to have hope there must be the right attitude. When we look at ourselves and our future we have to dream of making in better than the past. The kitten in us must dream of being a lion.

Everyone with children wants to dream that their kid’s life will be better than their own. That has been an American tradition for centuries. In order to think positively we must be willing to put in the work to make it happen. That often means going against the grain and especially thinking for yourself instead of letting other tell you what to believe.

Truly believing in a better future is really a frame of mind. That reminds me of a 1940 song originally sung by Bing Crosby and has been repeated by many since then. I know the words are clunky to many but the thought behind them it is more critical now than ever.

Let’s all try to concentrate on the bright side of life. It takes work but is a much more pleasant place to be than the alternative.

Accentuate The Positive

2016-03-01_10-14-50.pngYou’ve got to accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don’t mess with Mister In-Between

You’ve got to spread joy up to the maximum
Bring gloom down to the minimum
Have faith or pandemonium
Liable to walk upon the scene
